Should the Natural World Concern Us?

Every human on this earth is dependent on the next human and on everything around him. I have mentioned in previous articles man is part of the web of life not apart from it.
We are living in a global village where we can see and hear and experience what is occurring on the other side of the world in seconds, in fact live. This was never thought or dreamt of before.
So the actions of one or a few on one side of the world could, can have a effect on the rest. One example is I suppose psychological if one sees war on the news or a earthquake or a massive tsunami , one  can experience the pain of some sort, that that person or community is going through, so it can have devastating effects of long term trauma on people.
So yes the natural world should effect us all. Look at the plight of honey bees, forests just to name two.
I think if the world turned into a massive desert we would not be happy and we would be the ones seeking ecotherapy or ecopsychology.

Basically without the natural world we as humans go extinct.
