Banquet at the Palace

last night news channels showed the lavish display that was put on for the visiting Head of State, President Obama.
What I saw was many guests, film stars, government ministers, ex Prime Ministers, the list went on. What astounded me was the news headlines was of course the Obama state visit, but within a few minutes it was focusing on what the obamas wore, more so his wife, what the royals wore, how much the outfits cost, who were the guests attending, what was the menus etc.
Just by looking at the banqueting hall you could see the fortune of cut glass and gold  spread all over the tables. This was 100% a night for the rich, famous, powerful. Yes what made it worse  was it going out live to the world as all channels were  broadcasting it.  Why did it make it worse,? did the ruling elite, all of them last night not think for one second that there are millions of starving children , families not just  around the world in poverty stricken countries, but both here in the UK and even the US living on less then one dollar a day.
Correct me if I am wrong, but are we or are we not still in a global financial mess? yet the elite can quite happily stick two fingers up to all the masses, you and me and eat, drink, and be quite merry, without any thought for the worlds population and its current situation.
This highlights the fact that what ever anyone says there is a divide between rich and poor and is getting wider, there is a divide between west and east  and getting wider.

Problem is either the masses are too stupid do do anything or dumb to act. We have or have we not just seen uprising in so called Muslim lands and it is  supposed to be about the voice of the oppressed, well what are we waiting for?

To me last night was a direct kick in the lower region and a direct punch to the face and with no apology or concern.
The elite have it, we don't, "so what are you going to do about it" that's what they are saying probably.
Times are getting worse not better and we are the masses like sheep being pushed around from here to there and with no voice seemingly controlled by those few.
