Britain where I live, which is part of Europe has many good
things to say about its self. I was born here of course as all my families generations.
I was for many years a non Muslim and now Muslim I acknowledge very much so, the many aspects of British society that is applauded and should be.
But sadly when it seems the attack is directed at muslims on issues from the Prime Minister etc, for Muslims to accept British values, way of life, equality etc, I need
to be able to dissect this .
If I dissected it there are some values that Muslims living here would agree with, but not all aspects of British life is good, be it immorality, interest, pressure of working life, inequality on women, oppression of western women, violence, high consumerism etc. these are all difficult for Muslims to see, let alone have to live with.
Interestingly there has been for sometime a media frenzy of Muslims who become suicide bombers. Of course this is not correct and is not part of Islam at all, although it seems Muslim leaders like myself as a Imam have to keep saying . Why such people turn to this extreme approach is difficult to work out and those that result in talking their life and others must be really pushed to the very limits.
Today we also hear of widespread
European Suicide which has nothing to do with Muslims, but appears to be on the rise due to financial reasons, etc. These people also it appears are pushed to the very limits to the extent, they are prepared to take their own lives and cause tremendous pain for many.
I don't know if anyone has looked, but I wonder what would be the annual figure of global suicide rates, not Muslim and compare to the annual rates of suspected Muslim suicide incidents.?
