Why is it when I look at the moon at night whether its a quarter, half or full I can see the moon because the suns shining on it, like a torch towards an object. But with a torch you can see the beam shining to wards the object but we know the sun is also putting its light onto the moon but we cannot see the beam of light. If I look around its all dark but the moon is shining.
I'm sure there is a simple answer to this?
